Dublin, OH – November 16, 2025 – Claudia Phan, 17, was killed and four others were injured in a tragic crash on Highland Croy Road Sunday evening, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

What happened

The crash occurred near Johnston Drive at about 7:24 p.m. when Phan, driving a northbound 2016 Kia Forte, crossed the center line and collided with a southbound 2017 Ford Explorer. The impact sent both vehicles off the road, with the SUV driven by Jason Lyle, 37, of Lewis Centre, stopped on the right side of the road along with Fan’s Kia.

Phan suffered life-threatening injuries and was tragically pronounced dead at the scene by the Union County Coroner’s Office. Lyle was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital with serious injuries. His wife, 34-year-old Ashley Lyle, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, was also taken to the hospital, but with less serious injuries. Two young passengers in the Ford Explorer were taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries.
