Alexander, Arkansas – In a heartbreaking incident on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, 15 -year -old Makayala Fortner lost her life after being attacked by a packet of dogs, having pity on a personal property at Saline County, Arkansas.

Makayala and her mother were feeding about 30 to 40 neglected and hungry dogs and when the tragedy occurred around 12:15 pm, 911 calls and on arrival, faced a chaotic and dangerous scene. The deputy of a Saline County shot warning shots to spread dogs before searching for Makayala’s lifeless body.

For months, neighbors had expressed concern about dogs, calling them vicious and threat to public safety. Many local residents expressed fear for their children and pets, stating that dogs were moving freely and aggressively in the area. The officials had accepted concerns but cited the lack of animal control resources in the county.

After the deadly attack, the authorities ejected 14 of the most aggressive dogs. The remaining animals were seized by Benton Animal Control, and a thorough investigation is underway by the Saline County Sheriff Office. The exact cause and circumstances of the attack remain under review.

Makayala Bryant was a lively student in public schools, known for his heart, bright smile and love of football. Friends and family described him as someone who expanded to both people and animals, a young girl is a selfless feeling and a deep desire to help the needy.

In view of this tragedy, a Gofundme campaign launched in his honor raised thousands of dollars to support the cost of the funeral and its grieved family. The incident has ruled the community calls for strong animal welfare enforcement and public safety measures.
