A routine delivery job turned into a grand theft spree when a FedEx driver in Louisiana allegedly stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. Tyrann Jackson, a 27-year-old delivery driver, is accused of stealing items from undelivered packages, leading local authorities to conduct a significant investigation.
The incident came to light on February 11 when the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office was notified of a missing FedEx package that never reached its intended destination. Property Theft Detectives immediately began an investigation and were able to locate the stolen items in a storage unit in Baton Rouge, located on Perkins Road.
After obtaining a search warrant, investigators recovered approximately $62,000 worth of merchandise, which was packed in boxes and stored in the unit. A photo shared by the Sheriff’s Office shows an entire storage unit filled to the brim with undelivered packages.
Once the stolen items were located, detectives located Jackson, who was taken into custody. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail. The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a full investigation into the theft is still ongoing.
Although FedEx has not yet commented on the situation, the discovery raises concerns about the security and management of deliveries. Local authorities are investigating whether Jackson may have been involved in a major theft ring or whether this was an isolated incident.
This case highlights the vulnerability of goods in transit and the potential consequences of a breach of trust by those responsible for their safe delivery. As the investigation progresses, the community is keeping a close eye on it and hoping for answers as to how such theft could happen in a trusted distribution system.
