On Tuesday morning, there was a brief but significant disruption to JetBlue’s operations, as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grounded all JetBlue flights for about 40 minutes. The temporary ground stop was requested by the airline itself, according to a notice posted on the FAA’s website.

The airline said in a statement that the disruption was caused by a “brief system outage”, which has since been resolved. Shortly after the ground stop began, JetBlue confirmed that flights had resumed as normal.

JetBlue, which has been serving travelers for more than 25 years, did not provide further details about the cause of the outage or the specific system affected. The airline’s operations are primarily based in New York, with its principal terminal at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Despite the brief inconvenience, quick resolution of the problem by the airline meant that disruptions to air travel were minimal, and flights resumed in a short time frame.
