SAN CARLOS, Ariz. – A 42-year-old man has been identified as Sonny Garcia Sr. after a fatal stabbing in the Bylas district of San Carlos on March 12, 2026. Officers responded to a report at approximately 7:29 p.m., finding that Garcia was suffering from a stab wound. Emergency personnel from San Carlos EMS and the San Carlos Fire Department immediately arrived on the scene, and performed life-saving efforts before transporting him to San Carlos Apache Healthcare Corporation, where he was later pronounced dead.
Shortly after the incident, a suspect, identified as Lang, was found at a nearby residence and arrested without incident. Detectives from the San Carlos Apache Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, with assistance from the FBI and the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), are currently leading the investigation.
Authorities have stated that, at this time, they believe the incident was isolated, with no threat to the community. The investigation remains active as authorities work to uncover more details about the circumstances of Garcia’s death.
