A tragic accident on the interstate 97 in Anne Arundel County claimed the lives of two South County youths, leaving a community in heartbreaking and mourning families. Maryland State Police confirmed that 30-year-old Thomas Oliver Cellman III of Churchton and 29-year-old Marcus Eric James Junior from marriage died on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 in a single-vehicle accident.

The accident occurred around 9:03 pm, when according to preliminary reports, Cellman was running a dodge Durano north on I-97. Still under investigation, for the reasons, the vehicle came out of the road, out of the right shoulder, and crashed into a wild area. The SUV hit two trees before overturning, causing frightening damage. Both Cellman and James were declared dead on the spot by emergency medical personnel.

Maryland’s state police, crash reconstruction experts and Anne Arundel County Fire Fire Department, responded to the spot. So far, the exact cause of the accident is unknown.
