Brandon Gede was only 34 years old, not only one deputy – she was a husband, a father, a son, a friend and a community column. Whether he was responding to a call, a trapped motor driver was helping, or showing a local school to talk to the children about safety, deputy gede took himself with a humble professionalism that inspired confidence and praise.
After working in agricultural supply, he joined the Philips County Sheriff Office five years ago. His infection in law enforcement came from the land and the real desire to protect the dear people. He tirelessly trained, mentioned new recruitments with patience and grace, and from county fairs to church barbecue, was the first person to move forward for community outreach programs.
On the evening of 27 June, Deputy Ged replied that as a regular traffic stopped outside Kirwin’s cool agricultural community which started. Whatever came out in those moments remains under active investigation, but sadly, the situation increased and the brandon was badly injured while working, which he loved. Emergency services reached the spot, but died due to their injuries before reaching the hospital.
The entire county has been wrapped in a heavy silence since then – a will for the intense grief shared by all those who knew him. Black mourning bands are now spread on the badge of fellow depots. The flags fly on half staff outside the courthouse. Local businesses have donated, the churches have organized the wigms, and the Cancer Law Enforcement Memorial Foundation has committed to honor Brandon’s service at the state’s annual ceremony next year.
A public monument service will be held on Monday, June 30 at the Philipsburg High School Gymnasium, which is expected to honor full law enforcement. The duties across the state and even neighboring states have expressed the intention to participate, standing shoulder to shoulder in memory of their own.
