A wave of grief and sorrow has been washed away through the Esenhawar High School and the Greater Witch-region Athletic community after the Dedication of the dedicated and emotional head coach Amber Brearswig of the EHS Tigers Softball Program. Coach BRSVIG died in the weekend after a major, weekend, after a major cardiac event.
Amber Brearswig was not just a coach-he was the coronation stone of the Esenhover community, a mentor, a friend, and an unwavering dedication for student-athletes and softball games. Her sudden health crisis shook many people, and as the community ralled in prayer and expected her recovery, they now find themselves united in united in a life that left a permanent impact on countless young life.
Coach Breanswig served as the head coach of Eisenhwar Tigers for many years, exhaling both on the field, excluding his tireless commitment, his strategic mind and his deep care for his players. Under his leadership, the team experienced a remarkable growth – not only in performance and competition but also in culture and character. He taught his players that integrity, teamwork and flexibility were equally important as athletic achievement.
Those who knew him best, not only remember him as a coach for his talent, but he brought for the heart for everything he did. Former players talk about how he examined with him during the hard academic week, offered support through personal challenges, and shown constant rain or glowing for each of his student-athletes.
Amber Brearswig’s relationship with his players ran deeply. She was the type of coach that stopped late after practice to give additional batting tips, who brought energy and happiness into dugouts, and who converted every loss into a text and at the celebration of shared effort. Her players often called her the second mother – her nutritional spirit and a will for fierce loyalty.
The news of his passing has left the Hall of Essenhower High School heavy with grief. Students, faculty, and fellow coaches are struggling to understand the sudden loss of someone so vibrant and necessary for someone for daily life in the same school. Grief consultants have been provided for students and employees, and the memorial efforts are underway, including a candlelight plan in the school’s softball area – a place where the passion and appearance of Breanswig was the most felt.
Superintendent Dr. Cindy Garber issued a statement saying, “Amber Branswig was more than a coach – he was a leader, a role model, and a favorite member of our school family. Its influence will be felt for generations to come. We expand our deep sympathy for our family, friends and all, who were enough to know her.”
Athletic director Mike Jennings echoed Bhavna, saying, “Coach Breanswig created more than just a successful softball program. He created a community of young women who learned to believe in herself because she believed in them. We would continue to respect those values in all of them.”
Amber has survived his loving family, who stayed on his behalf during his health fight. He has expressed deep gratitude to support the community during his time in the hospital and to support prayers.
In the coming days, the Eisenhwar community will honor his memory with tribute that reflects the complete and loving life led by him. The softball ground will be renamed to honor him, and his jersey will retire in a special ceremony during the upcoming season.
