Zauntravious Davis, known as “Z” by family and friends, was a native of Shreveport, who had just started finding his foot as a young adult. Those who knew him, describe Davis with an infectious smile and big dreams as a calm, respectable person. He recently began working towards a trade certification and was known for his desire to lend his love for one hand and music in his community.
“I can’t believe he has gone,” said a family friend and neighbor Sherry Johnson. “Zauntravious had put his entire life in front of him. He was trying to do better, staying out of trouble, and making something for himself. It is just insensitive.”
The news of his death has shook the Lakeshore community, where gun violence has become a growing concern. The residents expressed their disappointment and sadness over the increasing incidence of firing, especially those who endanger innocent children.
“It is terrible to know that the children were also hurt,” Angela Brooks said, a mother who lives nearby. “What kind of world are we living in, where children cannot feel safe even in their neighborhood?”
The Shrewport Police has called upon the public to come forward with any information which can help in arresting in this case. They (318) are encouraging anyone with suggestions to contact crime stoppers at 673-7373. Unnamed tips are welcome and may be eligible for a cash reward.
