McDowell County, Nekan-Nebo’s Tight-Bana community, North Carolina, Christopher Corn, a beloved local resident, who died in a disastrous car accident on Monday evening, 30 June 2025. The US root near the boundary of McDowell and Rutherford Counties, a collision in 221 south, has left a community not only in his family’s heartbreak, but also in deep mourning.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Petrol (NCSph), the deadly accident occurred at around 7:37 pm and included two vehicles- 2025 Honda Pilot and 2024 Toyota GR86. The tragic incident came to light when the Honda Pilot, 34, a 34 -year -old Fasan Dayo of New Cumberland, Pennsylvania, tried to pass several cars while traveling south. Unfortunately, the driver failed to return to his lane in time and hit the head with Toyota, which was going north. The force of confrontation was destroyed, pushed Toyota away from the road and caused significant damage to both vehicles.

The tragic accident claimed the life of Christopher Corn, a passenger in Toyota. Despite the best efforts of emergency respondents, Christopher was declared dead on the spot. His sudden and untimely death has sent shockwaves through his family, friends and the entire Niebo community, where he was known for his heart, feeling of humor and dependence.

Jacob McKini, the driver of Toyota GR 86, was seriously injured in the accident and immediately came to the Mission Hospital for treatment. As this writing, Jacob remains in significant care, and the authorities have not given more updates on their position. While the accident has destroyed Christopher’s closest people, the disadvantage of Marion’s Fasan Deo and his passenger Catherine Jennings, who were also killed in a confrontation, have added the tragedy. In this heart -breaking incident, both Dio and Jennings were declared dead on the spot, marking the total three confirmed deadly people.

Units of McDowell County EMS, Rutherford County EMS, Glenwood Fire Department, Union Mills Fire Department, and McDowel County Rescue units worked together to provide medical care, rescue operations and traffic controls at the scene.
