63 -year -old Mathura Ramlogan lost his life on July 5, 2025, when he was crushed by a truck in a heartbreaking accident in front of his house. Their kind of kindness, attempts to help a driver, ended in the tragedy, left their family, friends and local community in shock.
What happened
The deadly incident occurred around 2 pm on trace, when Mathura Ramlogan was helping a truck driver recover the falling sheets. The driver, who was transporting the material to help the reconstruction of the nearby temple, stopped the truck after the sheets fell while navigating a standing inclination.
According to the driver, he had stopped the vehicle, stopped the handbreak, and put the truck in the neutral before exiting the material. Ramlogan came out of his house to see the situation, to help. Sadly, when they were recovering the sheets, the truck unexpectedly rolled backwards. Ramlogan was pinned under the rear right wheel and was pulled down from the road about ten meters before the vehicle stopped.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) reached the spot but was unable to revive Ramlogan. A district medical officer declared him dead on the spot, and his body was removed for the post -mortem examination.
