Nick had much higher than the titles made by him-he was a dear husband, a dedicated father, a caring son and son-in-law, a firm brother and a nurtured brother-in-law, a loyal friend and a funny uncle. He was a rock in his family, always to help a hearing ears, or to bend on the shoulder. His presence was a continuous source of strength and happiness, and he felt safe, love and valuable to the people around him. Nick had to know that kindness, humor and selflessness were to know in their pure form. He laughed people, even in the dark, and he always knew how to raise someone’s souls when they were feeling down.
Despite being with a chronic heart condition, Nick never allowed his health to define his days. He adopted life completely and whole heartedly, living with purpose, laughter and love each day. He was a fighter – firm to overcome the challenges that his health presented, never let him behind from staying there for his family and friends. His flexibility was something that everyone knew in front of adverseness. He was not just alive – he flourished, found happiness in everyday moments and spread that happiness to the people around him.
Sadly, his situation made him difficult for him to get life insurance, something that he wished deeply to be safe for his family. Nick’s love for his family was infallible, and he would have done anything to ensure his financial security and welfare. If it were within his power, he would move the mountains to ensure that they were preserved. Now, as his family navigates this unimaginable disadvantage, they not only face the emotional toll of losing Nick, but also the financial burden that comes with such a sudden tragedy.
Nick was a heartbeat of his house. His love for Katie, his wife and everything in everything, was unconditionally and permanent. She was a team that was facing the ups and downs of life, supporting each other in all her efforts. Together, they picked up two notable teenagers, whose flexibility and power reflect their father’s soul. Recently, he welcomed the twin children in his life, which gave even more happiness in his house. Nick’s world wandered around his family, and whatever he made-every decision, every effort-his happiness and welfare. His love for him did not know any limit, and he moved to heaven and earth to ensure their safety and happiness.
It is impossible to measure the hole abandoned by its passing. Katie, now facing unimaginable task of moving forward without a man who was his companions, protector and best friends, not only left with a heavy burden of navigate grief, but also left the practical realities of life without Nick.
