What happened
On 2025, Raghav Shrestha was riding his bike on “Musky Hill” in Sartell, Minnesota, when he crashed. Despite wearing a helmet the young man was seriously injured. His friend, who witnessed the accident, immediately called 911 for help.
Gary Wasen, a passerby, saw Raghav’s friend walking and approached him to offer assistance. When CPR instructor Wasen realized that Raghav was not breathing and had no pulse, he immediately started life-saving measures. Wasen’s actions helped revive Raghav, who was later taken to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) for more advanced care.
On Monday night, Raghav was listed in critical condition and put on life support. Despite all efforts, by Wednesday afternoon the doctors confirmed that there was no activity in the brain. After consulting medical professionals, Raghav’s family made the painful decision to remove him from life support. Raghav died peacefully after a few moments.
