It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the demise of James Richard “Peat” Paintle III, age 35, Zion, Illinois. Surrounded by the warm and relaxed family of his dedicated family, Peat died peacefully on July 2, 2025 after a courageous battle with illness. Although his time was very short with us, the presence of Peat left an indelible impression on all the blessed to know him.
Born on November 15, 1989, Pete was a bright light from the beginning. He grew up in Zion, Illinois, where he developed deep root connections in the community. A proud graduation of Seion-Benton Township High School, Pete was known for his intelligence, quick intelligence and generous heart. Later he made his career in skilled trades, earning the honor of colleagues and customers equally for his unwavering work moral and careful craftsmanship.
Peat was not only known for its talent and drive, but for his notable ability to bring happiness to the people around you. Whether it was his contagious laugh, his habit of telling the story, or his habit properly when someone needed him the most, Pete had a rare gift to see, heard and love people. He was a rock for his family, a loyal friend, and a fierce protector for those he nurtured.
Above all, Peat was a family person. He was a dedicated son, a nurtured brother, a proud uncle and a loving companion. His family was the center of his world, and he never gave a chance to spend family ceremonies, birthdays, holidays, or quiet evenings together. The loyalty of Peat did not know any limit – he stood as a column of strength, always kept others before himself.
Pete is alive by his beloved parents, James “Jim” Pentell Junior and Mary Paintle; His sisters, Rachel (Chris) Moran and Emily Painel; His niece and nephew, Jackson, Elli, and Ava, which he took beyond measurement; His dear companions, Sara Torres; Aunt, uncle, cousin and his extended family of countless friends who became like a family.
She was before her death by her grandparents, which she kept closer to her heart, and many close friends whose memories she used to take her with her every day.
Peat lived life with passion and purpose. He preferred to stay out – whether fishing, camping, or traveling hiking. He found peace near water and strength in the simplicity of nature. A dye-hard fan of Chicago bear, Pete never listened to a game, no matter how difficult it is. He had a generous taste in music and was happy to cook for loved ones, especially in Sunday’s dinner and filled with heat.
The peat will be remembered to say. His absence leaves a silence that echoes deeply, yet his soul lives in the laughter of his niece and nephews, he loved very much in the golden sunset, and in everyone’s hearts who were lucky to know him.
A celebration of Peat’s life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the Seyon Lutharan Church, which will be a memorial service at 10:00 am, 12:00 am. Friends and family are encouraged to share stories and wear Chicago beer dress.
In exchange for flowers, the family please request that the St. Jude Children’s Research to be donated for the Hospital or local mental health awareness initiative, causes close to the heart of Peat.
Although we say goodbye to now, Peat’s love, loyalty, and laughter will continue to inspire us all. Relax, dear beating. Your memory is a blessing, and your love will guide us forever.
“We leave behind to stay in the hearts, don’t die.” – Thomas Campbell
