Actor Crispin Glover, best known for his role back to the futureis facing multiple serious charges in a lawsuit filed by a former girlfriend, identified in the complaint as Jane Doe. The lawsuit, which was obtained by People, accuses the 61-year-old actor of violating California’s civil rights law, the Bane Act, as well as battery, fraud, wrongful termination, malicious prosecution and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

The allegations stem from a disturbing series of events that Jane Doe claims unfolded during her interactions with Glover. According to the filing, she alleged that Glover held her captive and molested her under the false pretenses of both sexual exploitation and free labor. The lawsuit claims the two met through social media in 2015, and after several years of messaging, eventually traveled to Los Angeles in 2024 at Glover’s invitation, where he promised her a job, shelter, and a new life in the entertainment industry.

Upon arriving in Los Angeles, Doe alleged that she was placed in a harassing and controlling situation, where Glover tried to control her actions and keep track of her whereabouts. She claims she faced a life where she was treated as his live-in girlfriend and “sex slave”, dependent on Glover’s promises of shelter and money.

The situation reportedly worsened when Doe tried to leave home to go to the mosque in early March. Upon her return, she claimed Glover locked her out of the house, kicking her out without warning, leaving her homeless. Doe also alleged that Glover attacked her when she attempted to re-enter the house to retrieve her belongings and her pet cats. She claims Glover pinned her in a headlock, causing visible injuries to her neck.

The complaint accuses Glover of filing a false police report, in which he claimed Doe was trespassing into his home. They claim that the restraining order filed by Glover went viral, damaging Doe’s career and reputation. Despite the restraining order, Doe alleged that Glover continued to contact her and harass her in an attempt to resume their sexual relationship.

In response, Glover’s legal team has vehemently denied the allegations, calling them “baseless” and claiming that Glover was in fact the victim of a serious assault perpetrated by Doe in March 2024. According to Glover’s representatives, he contacted the LAPD, who investigated the incident and arrested Doe. They argue that the restraining order filed by Glover was a valid legal action in response to the alleged assault and was dismissed due to lack of prosecution.

Glover’s representatives are confident that the judicial process will expose the lawsuit as a “meritless fabrication”, and they plan to vigorously defend him against the claims.

As the legal battle continues, both sides are preparing for a jury trial to determine damages and other legal consequences. The case has drawn significant attention to the nature of their complex and volatile relationship, and the court’s findings will likely have a lasting impact on both Glover’s personal life and career.
