Boone County, Ky. – The family of 9-year-old Jenny Dim, who was found dead in a pond near her Florence home Saturday evening, has released a heartfelt statement expressing gratitude for the support they have received from the community during the search for their missing daughter.

Jenny was reported missing for more than 24 hours, with search teams finding her body around 7:30 pm on Saturday evening. The discovery followed an intensive, multi-agency search effort that spanned two square miles on the ground, seven to eight miles in the air via drones and a Kentucky State Police helicopter, and additional ground coverage by law enforcement K-9s.

Jenny’s aunt, Julie Parr, shared the family’s grief and appreciation in a post on social media Sunday morning. “Although our hearts are deeply broken by this loss, we take solace in knowing that Jenny has finally found peace and comfort in the arms of our Heavenly Father,” Parr wrote. “We hold on to our faith and belief that she is now safe, at peace and surrounded by God’s love.”

The family expressed deep gratitude for the dedication and hard work of all law enforcement and rescue teams who assisted in the search efforts, including the Kentucky State Police, Boone County Sheriff’s Department and the Hamilton County LandSAR team. Parr thanked the community for their support, writing, “We are truly grateful to every single one of you, especially those who volunteered to search from dawn to dusk.”

In the message, Parr acknowledged the immense kindness of other people, including those who offered food and assistance. The family is in the process of setting up a GoFundMe page to assist with expenses, although they expressed that donations were not expected.

“We can never repay you, but we pray that God blesses each of you,” Parr said, deeply touched by the outpouring of love and support.

Although the family had hoped for a different outcome, they expressed their trust in God’s plan. He also thanked all those who offered prayers and messages of consolation during this difficult time.

As the investigation into Jenny’s death continues, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with information to contact the non-emergency line at 859-371-1234.
