Lee’s summit, MO – In a tragic accident, a cyclist has inspired an active investigation by Lee’s summit police after a deadly collision on Wednesday morning.
On June 11, 2025, around 10:00 pm, emergency staff reacted at the intersection of Sw Jefferson Street and Sw Scherer Road, including a cyclist with injuries after reporting a motor vehicle accident.
Initial findings of the investigation indicate that the cyclist was traveling south on the sidewalk on the east of the Swar Jefferson Street. As Rider attempted to cross the streets of the west side of the Sw Scherer Road, they were killed by an upcoming vehicle.
The cyclist retained life-threatening injuries and was immediately taken to a nearby trauma center, where he was later declared dead. Officials have not yet released the identity of the pending family notification.
The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and was evaluated by paramedics. He further rejected medical treatment and did not need to be hospitalized.
