Robert Weaver was last known on 25 June 2025 in Doroshin Bay Public Use Cabin near Skillak Lake. The discovery attempts have been underway since his disappearance, local teams tirelessly tried to find him. These efforts include ground teams, boats, helicopters, drones and canine search teams from AK search and rescue dogs.
On July 4, 2025, the most recent update reported that the ground, boat and air crew had discovered the area intensively, but unfortunately, nothing was found. Formal discovery efforts are concluded, and the officials will coordinate the future efforts to recover the future with Alaska state soldiers, Alaska State Parks and National Park Services.
