Niagra Falls, NY – July 2, 2025 -The Niagara Falls community has been shocked after killing 34 -year -old Thomas Harris in a violent change by stabbing the Main Street till late night. The Niagara Falls Police Department has since arrested 53 -year -old Arthur Hick, alleging killing a second degree in connection with Harris’ death. The incident, just before midnight of June 30, has expressed concern about public safety, leaving an unexpected and tragic loss, except the victim’s friends and family.

A deadly encounter on main street

The police were called to the 1700 block of Main Street around 11:45 am on Monday after reporting a stabbing. When the officials arrived, they found that Thomas Harris lay on the road, suffering from many knife wounds. Despite immediate medical intervention by Niagra Falls Fire Department and AMR personnel, Harris was declared dead on the spot.

The investigation went quickly, with detectives to cancel the area for evidence of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) and the Crime Scene Unit (CSU) and to cancel the area for witnesses. Monitoring footage and tips from the public helped lead officials for Arthur Hicks, which was found in a wild area between 1000 blocks of North Avenue and nearby rail tracks after less than 24 hours. Hick, a resident of Niagra Falls, was taken into custody without any incident and is expected to argue in Niagra Falls City Court.

So far, the police have not revealed a possible purpose to stab or know whether the Hicks and Harris knew each other before the attack. The case remains active, reviewing the monitoring video with detectives, interviewing witnesses and connecting the events together which caused a fatal conflict.
