Oklahoma City police are investigating whether a 15-year-old girl was used as a surrogate after it was discovered she was pregnant with twins, raising serious concerns about potential abuse and exploitation. The investigation, which began in December, began after a call regarding a possible sexual assault involving a teen at an apartment complex in Oklahoma City.

The girl, whose identity has been withheld, was found to be carrying twins, according to documents obtained from Child Protective Services (CPS). The teen’s pregnancy has led authorities to question the circumstances surrounding her pregnancy, with some suggesting that her mother’s 36-year-old boyfriend may have been involved. CPS officials reported that the mother had told them that her daughter “wanted additional siblings”, although she also claimed that she “wanted to have children with her current boyfriend”, despite being unable to conceive herself due to her tubes being tied.

Court documents reveal that the teen’s mother refused to allow her boyfriend to impregnate her daughter. However, the police are now exploring the possibility of surrogacy or other methods to explain the pregnancy. To determine the identity of the twins’ father, police obtained a search warrant to collect DNA from a 36-year-old man.

The teen, who is expected to give birth later this month, has been placed in protective custody, along with her second child. The investigation is still ongoing, but no criminal charges have been filed yet against the teen’s mother, who has reportedly fled to California, or her boyfriend, whose whereabouts are unknown at this time.

The case comes amid increased attention on reproductive rights, as Oklahoma enforces strict abortion laws that allow exceptions only to save the mother’s life or in cases of rape or incest reported to law enforcement. Officials have not yet commented on whether the investigation will result in charges or further action.
